Le Monde / Drawing the World (Mexico, Yukon)

This series of drawings is evolving from the initial series-- Drawing the World / Le Monde-- Paris, begun in May 2011. Recent drawings have been produced on residencies in Barcelona and Cadiz, Spain and in Chapala, Mexico; abandoning the conceit of the newspaper to work from my own photographs. Street dogs are ubiquitous in Méxican towns. Working with stories about Yukon dogs on the installation Northern Howl, I was impressed with the totally different approach to life Mexican dogs have in relation to the working dogs of Dawson City, Yukon.
